It's not only the new Focus that has been keeping Ford busy. This is a hydrogen-powered C-MAX. The alternatively fuelled MPV has been developed by boffins at the firm's Research Centre in Aachen, Germany. It uses a prototype engine based on Ford's existing 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol unit, except it has been supercharged to counter any loss of performance.
Three separate fuel tanks have also been added - two behind the rear seats and one under the floor - giving the car a range of 125 miles.
